Based in Inner North Brisbane, Specialist Literacy Education was founded with the mission of fostering partnerships with students, schools and families. I work onsite at schools, providing smooth transitions between classroom learning and our lessons, while also creating opportunities for valuable communication with teachers and school support teams.

I am a dual qualified speech pathologist and primary teacher with additional studies in learning difficulties.
I completed my Bachelor of Speech Pathology (First Class Honours) in 2008. I have over 12 years experience working with schools, teachers and parents to support students in their reading, spelling, oral language and writing development. I have worked in various roles including as an educational speech pathologist with the Department of Education Victoria, as a classroom teacher and literacy coordinator and also as a regional Professional Practice Leader.
I completed Reading Tutor training (MULTILIT) in 2015, Sounds Write training in 2016, Read3 training in 2024 and my Master of Teaching in 2017. I completed my Graduate Certificate of Education (Learning Difficulties) in late 2024.

I have completed additional courses in Explicit Instruction and Learning Difficulties (through LDA), The Science of Language and Reading (through SOLAR Lab), Writing For Life (Lyn Stone) and Little Learners Love Literacy.
My mission is to provide evidence-based intervention within the school environment, strengthening existing relationships between the student, their family and the school.
