Assessment Services
An assessment may be recommended by a classroom teacher, school guidance officer or you may have your own concerns as a parent.
Depending on your child's age and the main areas of concern, formal assessment can include an investigation of:

-
Oral language, for example vocabulary knowledge and ability to comprehend instructions
-
Phonological processing skills, for example the ability to break spoken words into sounds, phonological memory and rapid automatic naming (highly associated with reading ability)
-
Word reading accuracy and fluency (for real and nonsense words)
-
Single word spelling (for real and nonsense words)
-
Passage reading fluency and comprehension
-
Written composition

Assessments can take between 1 - 4 hours and start at $420, which includes a report with an analysis of strengths, weaknesses and recommendations.
